Material

Gray cast iron, consisting mainly of silicon, sulfur and carbon, is used not only in industrial manufacturing but also in stuffing boxes and towers. Reasons for the Material

1. Good wear resistance and vibration elimination.

Because graphite in cast iron is good for lubrication and oil storage, so the wear resistance is good. Similarly, due to the presence of graphite, gray cast iron has better vibration dissipation than steel.

2. good process performance.

Because of the high carbon content of gray cast iron, close to the eutectic composition, so the melting point is relatively low, good mobility, small shrinkage, so suitable for casting complex structure or thin-walled castings. In addition, because graphite is easy to form chip breakage during cutting, so the machinability of gray cast iron is better than steel.

3. the relationship between hardness and tensile strength: between the hardness and tensile strength of gray cast iron, there is a certain correspondence.
